Sunday Men's Bible Study
with Ken Wilson
"A lot of people expect me to put
down the Christian athelete and, for some reason, they think that if

Cherry, Faith Today 01/02/01
The Sunday Men's Bible study meets

All men over 18 are most welcome.
Fall 2006 - Personal Evangelism
How many times have you wanted to
share your faith, but
didn’t because you were afraid of failing? Success in witnessing is
living the Christian life day by day, sharing the Gospel, and trusting
God for the results. God does the work. We cannot fail. It is all God’s
work. This book series will cover the various ‘what if’ questions
believers may encounter as well as provide simple and effective ways to
introduce your faith to your friends, neighbours and family. Primary
text: Share Jesus Without Fear by William Fay.

Small Group Fellowship and Bible Study
"having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him
and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and
overflowing with gratitude."
Colossians 2:7 (NASB)
Alta Vista Baptist has an active collection of
small Bible study fellowship groups. These groups of approximately 6-12
people meeting (usually weekly) at either the church or a group
member's home. Each group has a different flavour or focus of study
method or scripture. These groups provide members with a time of
regular focused Bible study, Christian fellowship, encourage, and
Scripture reading.
Most groups follow a published study guide (normally selected
by the group) or a bible study or theology book, and cover a wide
spectrum of Bible study techniques.
Meetings usually involve both bible study and fellowship.
Most groups meet during the Fall through Spring period and
break for the Summer months.
Please see the Sunday Bulletin, the Schedules Web
Page, or contact the church office
to confirm current groups and times.
Individual Bible Study
"teaching them to observe all that I commanded you..."
Matthew 28:20a (NASB)
Many Christians embark on individual Bible
Study of one sort or another. Whatever the format, Bible Study is often
facilitated by access to one or more of the expository dictionaries,
commentaries, alternate Bible translations, and other reference
materials now available. Unfortunately, most people do not have ready
access to such reference materials in their homes. The Internet
provides access to many of the major reference texts, as well as
powerful Bible search and alternative translation tools.
The Links listed below reference a number of web sites which
provide access to one or more of the above tools in a useful format.
While this list is by no means exhaustive, we pray that it will assist
with your study and understanding of His Word.
There are also a large number of additional links that may be
of use for research and study on our Links web page.
